چکیده

The article presents a method of forecasting the deformation land surface over large fields underground gas storage facilities located in salt caverns. solution allows for taking into account many parameters characterising operation facilities, such as cavern processes (leaching, enlargement, operational, etc.), their depth, distribution, diameter, shape, and others. advantage applied other available options is possibility using it caverns while keeping calculations simple. effectiveness has been proven predicted subsidence EPE field with 114 hypothesis was compared measurement outcomes.

Advantage and Hazard to the Environment from Construction and Operation of Underground Gas Storage Facilities

The paper describes positive and negative aspects of the basic UGS facilities’ impact on the environment using the results of the study of ecologically hazardous factors on the UGS operation areas. On the basis of results of ecological investigations at Russian underground gas storages that have been recently carried out a comprehensive estimation of UGS impact on the environment was given and ...

Surface thermoelastic deformations caused by a laser

2014 A method is suggested for an accurate experimental measurement of the topography of the surface thermoelastic deformations in solids, induced by a point focused CW laser beam. An approximate theory for the surface deformation of anisotropic materials is obtained. Different cuts of quartz and glass samples have been examined. Revue Phys. Appl. 19 (1984) 631-634 AOÛT 1984, PAGE Classificatio...

Underground Storage of Natural Gas in Indiana

Underground gas storage is the practical means of making available the increased supplies of natural gas that are needed in Indiana in winter periods of peak demand. To date, 21 gas storage projects providing an estimated storage capacity of 48 billion cubic feet have been initiated. Expansion of storage capacity is anticipated. Basic geologic factors and availability of subsurface information ...

Investigation of Underground Gas Storage in a Partially Depleted Naturally Fractured Gas Reservoir

In this work, studies of underground gas storage (UGS) were performed on a partially depleted, naturally fractured gas reservoir through compositional simulation. Reservoir dynamic model was calibrated by history matching of about 20 years of researvoir production. Effects of fracture parameters, i.e. fracture shape factor, fracture permeability and porosity were studied. Results show...

Safety distance between underground natural gas and water pipeline facilities

A leaking water pipe bursting high pressure water jet in the soil will create slurry erosion which will eventually erode the adjacent natural gas pipe, thus causing its failure. The standard 300 mm safety distance used to place natural gas pipe away from water pipeline facilities needs to be reviewed to consider accidental damage and provide safety cushion to the natural gas pipe. This paper pr...
